The Energy Museum is located in the electricity generation unit of the Silahtarağa Power Plant, where turbines and the control room are situated.
It is Türkiye’s first preserved and repurposed energy museum. With its structural integrity maintained, visitors are offered close-up views of the turbine-generator sets and the control room, providing concrete examples of how the machinery operated at the time.
santralistanbul aims to establish a cultural and artistic platform both nationally and internationally, drawing on creative and contemporary disciplines of culture, art, and education. The Energy Museum received the DASA Award in 2012 under the Micheletti Award, which is given to outstanding industry, technology, and science museums in Europe.
